Brief description:
The premises use industrial Techno-B refrigeration units — a cold room and freezer - each with its own built-in electronic control. To monitor their temperature, an independent duplicated remote monitoring and alarm system has been added alongside.
The monitoring system consists two separate Shelly 1PM Gen3 modules with Shelly Plus Add-on interfaces and DS18B20 digital temperature sensors. In each storage room, two independent sensors measure the temperature,mounted on different devices — so the failure of one device does not interrupt monitoring.


Freezer: an alert is sent if the temperature rises above -10°C (too warm) or falls below -24°C (too cold). Normal operating temperature is -17…-19°C.
Cold room: an alert is sent if the temperature rises above +6.1°C (too warm) or falls below 0°C (too cold). Normal operating temperature is +1...+4°C.
When a limit is exceeded, an automatic alert is sent to the responsible member of staff and the owner. The system also detects loss of network connection and reports it immediately. Temperature data is recorded in real time and is available both locally and remotely, making it possible to demonstrate compliance with the required temperature regime at any point in time.
Temperature is measured with Vinson DS18B20 digital temperature sensors (manufacturer: ELDES Alarms, Lithuania), with a measuring range of -55°C to +125°C and an accuracy of ±0.5°C between -10°C and +85°C. The sensors are factory calibrated and require no external calibration.
When the system detects a temperature alarm, a phone notification is sent to the owner, the responsible member of staff and the technician:


The sensor, the room and the exact time the deviation was detected are also logged by address, and the alert repeats until someone resolves the problem or acknowledges it manually (everything is traceable in the system, to prevent both mistakes and spoiled food).
Temperature is monitored through a web interface and a phone app:
Fluctuations in the minimum, maximum and average temperature are visible at a glance, making review straightforward for the owner and
Selecting a date range in the app gives access to the data in different formats and intervals.
The phone app has no monthly fees.
